Yes, yes, it’s happened: the new version we briefly launched last fall is now finished and running.
There’s a lot of things that changed, but most of them you’ll discover for yourself. In particular, we’ve merged the possible schedules and courses pages; it will now be much easier to manage your courses.
We’d love to hear your comments — so let us know what you think, and Happy Scheduling!

Well, folks, we goofed. Everyone does it, and unlike certain CEOs, I’m a believer that when you make a mistake, you’ve got to admit it, apologize for it, and fix it. The new launch had more bugs than we expected, and it turns out that a feature we had delayed (search by time) was a lot more important than we thought. So we’ve pulled back while we add a little more polish.
I’d like to thank everyone who commented and wrote in with complaints; we’re grateful to you for letting us know what parts of Schedulizer are important to you, so we can serve you better. And thanks as well to those who wrote in to express what they liked about the new version. Not to worry, we’re not giving up on it– we’re no quitters. So for those of you who’ve got questions like this guy’s:
I was using Schedulizer on Saturday (I think) and I noticed a new (and much better) interface, but that seems to no longer be available. Will the “new” interface be permanently launched?
Yes. Yes it will.

As you’ve no doubt noticed, we’ve done some recent remodeling here at Schedulizer. The website looks a lot spiffier and we’ve changed some functionality. By far the largest shift is the merging of the old possible schedules and selected courses pages into one single, beautiful entity. Whereas before you’d have to scroll down a seemingly-endless list of sections and courses, now we’ve set everything up in tabs that you can switch between and collapse at will. This change was strongly influenced by our recent acquisition of BingBuilder at Binghamton University, which had a similar design– and now, as promised, we’re taking some of those great ideas and using them to make Schedulizer even better, and your scheduling experience even easier.
With any sort of new launch, of course, there’s bound to be a bug or two in the first few weeks, so we hope you’ll bear with us as we go. Thanks a bunch, and happy scheduling!

A lot of people don’t know it, but years ago, when we first expanded Schedulizer beyond Cornell, Notre Dame was one of the schools we supported. Unfortunately, things went, well, badly. It wasn’t that students at Nortre Dame didn’t like Schedulizer (quite the opposite) but that certain classes at ND couldn’t be supported by Schedulizer’s architecture at that time. We were disappointed to have to do it, but we ended up pulling the plug on the school. That all changed this summer, when, thanks to our shiny new internal scheduling system, we were able to bring the school back.
It looks like the folks at Notre Dame remembered us; this July, Notre Dame students broke our record for most registrations in a single day. We were really shocked by this; these sorts of records just don’t get broken in summer months. But it just goes to show you– you never can tell.
So thanks, Notre Dame students, for welcoming us back– believe us, it’s good to be back.

As you’ve no doubt noticed, we’ve done a bit of redesigning here at Schedulizer– the new design is the work of Minnie Gong and Hedy Deng, two Cornell Students. They came to our attention after working with a group at Cornell that made ScheduleSync, a new utility that will be coming to Schedulizer sometime next year.

As of Saturday, March 27th, Schedulizer acquired BingBuilder from Binghamton student Ricky Viscomi.
BingBuilder users, welcome to Schedulizer! Our Scheduling system is a bit different than BingBuilder, but we’ll be working over the next few months to merge the best parts of both systems. In the meantime, you’ll be able to enjoy all of Schedulizer’s features, including a more accurate course roster, class search, and personal event support.
If you’ve got questions or comments, feel free to leave them on this blog or to email us at contact@schedulizer.com!
